Received this letter from reader Makiko Nukui today, expressing appreciation for the thoughtfulness shown by Singaporeans to her aged parents during their recent visit here. She cited two specific acts of kindness. On the MRT, two young ladies gave up their seats unasked to her parents. Then when her parents lost their way in an underpass, a young man took them to the correct exit.
I’m sure these are just two of many gracious acts seen in Singapore daily. Thanks, Makiko, for writing. I hope your letter will encourage many more. :) – LHL
